The one that got away

Sorry that it has been so long since I have posted a blog.  I have been working and dealing with health issues that you guys know about.  I just wanted to say before I write this blog that I don’t go to the ER everyday. It has just been a coincidence that all this stuff has happened in the last month and a half.  Thanks to everyone that has been there for all of it.   Preach and I have always made the best out of every situation.

There have been a couple of special women in my life. I thank God for each of them, but there has been one that got away and not a day goes by without thinking of her. We have to go back to 2006 for this story (this was before I got sick). I was working three jobs trying to make it in the world. I was single, young, wild, and free. I had never really thought about marriage or a really deep relationship before. My friends have had them, but I never experienced it and wanted to.

I was working at a sports marketing company and I met the woman of my dreams.  She was a client that my company was working for.  I was in charge of the event with a buddy of mine, so I was walking around making sure everything was in order and I got to spend a lot of time with her.  I could tell that she was into me maybe more so than I was into her. It was funny. I remember that everyone that I worked for called me Train (my real name is Adam, but my dad called me Train) and she asked me “Do I have to call you Train?”  I just laughed. I replied, “I don’t care what you call me as long as you call.”

It was an all day event, so afterwards we exchanged numbers and that was the start of the best year and a half relationship that I ever had. I don’t want to include her name, but you can use your imagination.

All my life, it has only been me. Don’t get me wrong, I had dated before, but this was something special.  This was the first time that I WANTED to come home and just stay home.  I had never had that and this girl made me understand the concept of a real relationship.

The reason I have been thinking about this so much is due to my schedule which leaves me with a lot of free time and I miss the time that we had to share with each other.
I also see on Facebook at least once a day that a young woman has been wronged in a relationship and I think to myself that I could be great and that I have a lot to give someone.

Also, in my hometown there isn’t really a large market of girls that I’m looking for.  If you don’t sleep with someone right off the bat you are looked at like there is something wrong with you.

Also, I come from a broken home and I had step parents, so I understand that game and I really don’t want to enter a relationship with a woman that has kid(s). I won’t say never, but I will have an open mind.

In closing, I just want to say that I did enjoy having that special someone to come home to at night, but single life is fun as well…I really enjoyed her company and the understanding that she brought to me about what it means to actually care about someone.

I've read your past posts. (It's the first thing I did when I got off of work, actually. haha) It sounds like a really fun job and I can't wait to see what other songs you post. I'm always looking for new music. (=

  3. Train, so sorry things didn't work out with your lady-friend. Usually I love the idea of romance - but then sometimes I'm scared of the sadness it can bring when things don't work out. Must have been hard to lose her even though you sound ok about it now.

It's interesting to read in the feedback that you're a DJ. I haven't gone through your archives, I usually just read blogs from the present onwards, and so missed that fact. Must be such a fun job! Nothing like having a job that you enjoy...!

    1. Bozo- Thanks so much for your reply always enjoy hearing from you and its great to see my stats saying that someone from India is reading my blog.

Yeah it was really tough back then but, what doesn't kill you make your stronger!!!

Being a DJ is great!!! I love people and music!!! And I have gotten really good at it over the last three years. What kind of music do you listen to? I was wondering that this morning. Hope you have a great rest of the week and I look forward to your blog as well.

    2. Lol, you know, sometimes I like to visit blogs discretely - but then that stats doodly-hop always gives me away! It *is* fun seeing hits from different countries though. Most of my viewers seem to be in the States - but every once in a while a really random country pops up which is fun.

I actually don't listen to music very much. When my friends and I were teenagers we were really into the Beetles - and right now I appreciate Dire Straits - but I really don't know much about it. Music is pretty much an unexplored world for me ;-)

    4. wow that's hard for me to understand because music has been my lifes-blood for as along as I can remember. There isn't a moment that goes by where I don't listen to music and I have had some great people in my life that are very talented in music so that helps. I AM going to try and educate you on music because I love it so much.

  5. I have known you since we were kids, but for the first time I almost feel hurt by what you said about kids. Something to think about....what if down the road (keeping your health issues in mind), you don't have kids. I understand not wanting a relationship with someone who already has a basketball team of their own but one kid won't hurt. You never know...some lonely kid might need a video game partner!! Just a thought!!! I still love ya though and you are a ball of fun!!

  7. I'm sorry it didn't work out with that special person. Fortunately for me, my "special person" that got away turned out to have been a HUGE mistake who was (unbeknownst to me) belittling my self-esteem. 4 years and 900 miles later I realized how lucky I was to be out of it. But it still hurt at the time.

ANYWAY...never say never, dude! I do know some people with issues related to either a step-parent, or the fact that their ex remarried and is screwing up their kid. I never wanted to be a step-parent and have steered clear of getting involved with men who have kids.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Like I have a clue...
I really think God has an Awesome sense of humor, the way he lets us think we know what we want or need in this life.
